This bird has wonderful coloring and is very bright and cheery. It is perched on a few child's wooden letter blocks - with a different letter on each side.

This bird is embellished with vintage metal tape measure segments for wings. It has a metalic crest from a watch manufacturer on his chest and on his back is a metalic emblem that reads: Ram's Horn - Sun Cured.

The artist signed and dated this bird under his tail feathers.

A fascination with birds and antique found objects is what inspired Tori & Jim Mullan for this collection. 

In 1991 original decoys were passed on to them and they decorated Jim’s studio for years. In 2006, Jim decided to go through his boxes of old and damaged birds and have some fun.  He combined his love of mixed media with his vast collection of found objects and a new 3-D art form was born.

Before they knew it, their feathered friends had become amazingly popular and are a favorite of many collectors.

Each bird is hand made in their Florida studio using old carvings as their models. The unusual relics they use such as croquet balls, binoculars and old toys give each inspiring bird their own personality. These sculptures give life to the once forgotten pieces of yesterday.
