Make this artisan-designed and dyed gourd a great addition to your home or office's decor.

How can you possibly call yourself a nature lover without this wonderful Honey Bee Bear in your home? Great to be used in any decor – perfect for a young person's room or on display anywhere in your home or even just right for an office credenza.

This special Honey Bee Bear is hand dyed and crafted by a local artist from Central Pennsylvania. It was created using a hard shell gourd from a farm outside of Carlisle, Pennsylvania. He has intricate carving and "inlay" of a beehive and it even has a floating bumble bee on his belly.

His eyes and mouth have been expertly designed and he has the original stem on his head - adding to the charm of the natural origin.

He has a soft scarf tied around his neck and it is marked on the bottom by the Meadowbrooke artist.

Because each gourd is natural and not manufactured, the size, shape and color will vary slightly with each piece. That makes each a one-of-a-kind creation.

This gourd is great to display on its own or in a grouping of other nature-related items - in a home or office display.

About The Artist

The Meadowbrooke Gourds farm is where the magic happens. The farm lies at the foot of the Blue Mountains in central Pennsylvania.

How was this gourd dried?
After they snip the gourd from the plant it is left in the fields for the next six months where it dries naturally.

How was it washed?
The skin on the outside is best removed after the gourd has soaked for two days and then scrubbed with a steel wool pad or hard bristled brush.

How was it cut and crafted?
The Meadowbrooke artists use jigsaws customized over the last 10 years to perfectly craft these creations. A crafter must train for at least a year and even then, only half of them go on to become a master cutter. (These gourds are not cut and contain the dried contents of a natural gourd.)

How was it finished?
After the gourd is dyed with leather dyes, the artists use satin finish polyurethane to complete them.
