A Wonderfully Decorated Large Blue Lace Vase
This Large Vase, made by the "Ceramika Artystyczna" or "Artistic Ceramics" pottery in Boleslawiec, Poland, is some of the finest you will find on the market today. This vase would make a perfect centerpiece on your table all year long.
Work from this pottery is regularly featured on QVC's shopping network and has become a highly sought after maker among collectors.
The decorative motifs are applied with a variety of small stamps and handpainting - often with many hundreds of strokes - each a little different - making collecting an art form in itself.
This piece carries the pottery's original mark and the paper label applied in Poland (see the photo for an example).
Special white clay is used that is soft when moist, but when fired at 2000 degrees Fahrenheit, it becomes as hard as stone and non-porous. This intense firing makes it resistant to chips and breakage. It also allows it to retain heat and have even temperature throughout, making it exceptional for baking and serving.
This pottery is safe for your oven, microwave and dishwasher. The final glaze results in an ultra smooth finish, enhancing its beauty and enabling a real ease of cleaning.

More About Boleslawiec & Ceramika Artystyczna:
Boleslawiec (pronounced: Bowl-e-swa-vee-etz) is located on the Bobr River along the border between Germany and Czechoslovakia. This region of the world has been a potter's community dating to the 7th century.
"Ceramika Artystyczna" or "Artistic Ceramics" started production in 1950 in the former factory of "Paul und Sohn" (1893-1945). The variety of forms include many museum copies and traditional shapes.
Stamped pottery decorations with the "eye of the peacock's tail" patterns have been produced since the beginning of the 19th Century and recognized among the finest examples of European pottery.
Village craftsmen and peasants of lower Silesia, inspired by the peacock's feather, have added incredible strength and beauty to these objects, which have long been admired for their quality and decorative appeal.
Ceramika Artystyczna, in Boleslawiec, has won numerous international awards for excellence in quality and design. A selection of original pieces can be viewed in a museum in Boleslawiec.
