I love my Michaud Artichoke box. I think it may become a collection. I have the beehive and apple now, as well. If you happen to have others, please keep me in mind and let me know.
1 Qt Oval Covered Serving Bowl Lid Polish Pottery details
A Wonderfully Decorated Covered Serving or Casserole Bowl
This Oval Covered Serving Bowl employs additional accent colors to compliment the traditional patterns that use greens, blues and earthtones. The Unikat or "Signature" patterns, as with this piece, have added other colors to their sophisticated designs.
This covered casserole - featuring dark cobalt blue intricate details on the lid as well as the bowl - would make a great piece on anyone's table - and a show piece all year long. The decorative motifs are applied with a variety of small stamps and handpainting - often with many hundreds of strokes - each a little different - making collecting an art form in itself.
This piece carries the pottery's original mark and the paper label applied in Poland (see the photo for an example).
Special white clay is used that is soft when moist, but when fired at 2000 degrees Fahrenheit, it becomes as hard as stone and non-porous. This intense firing makes it resistant to chips and breakage. It also allows it to retain heat and have even temperature throughout, making it exceptional for baking and serving.
This pottery is safe for your oven, microwave and dishwasher. The final glaze results in an ultra smooth finish, enhancing its beauty and enabling a real ease of cleaning.
